Lync 2013 / SfB 2015 Client Update – February 2018

The January update took us to 15.0.4997.1000 and this week Kb 4011678 pushed us through the FIVE THOUSAND BUILD mark to hit 15.0.5007.1000. Phew!

What’s Fixed

This update fixes the following issues:

  • Kb 4076534 Skype for Business client crashes when working with external contacts in Outlook
  • Kb 4076533 Can’t input messages until clicking participants list after full-screen sharing in Skype for Business 2016 and Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013)
  • Kb 4076532 Set the default value of the EnableRestoreOAuthUsedKeyWhenUsingCachedWebTicket key to true
  • Kb 4076531 You’re prompted for Exchange credentials when you switch to internal network for Skype for Business

Pre-Req’s

We saw a couple of pre-req updates last year, but if you’re current then you’re OK today.

If however your patching isn’t to current you’ll need to check you have *all* of these pre-req’s. The Office 2013 SP1 requirement still applies if you’re using Outlook 2010. (Lync 2013 in all of its flavours – e.g. Lync Basic – is still a component of Office 2013).

One Comment

  1. This version introduces a new bug when we are using the extensibility window feature:
    – cliking inside a field inside the extensibility window (which is displaying a webpage), then clicking back inside the area where we can type an instant message, and typing something, what we type appears inside the previously clicked field inside the extensibility window
    – This behavior did not occur in the previous version 15.0.4997.1000
How can this bug be reported to Microsoft?
