Lync 2013 / SfB 2015 Client Update – December 2016

Our pre-Christmas update (KB3127976) takes the Office 2013-based Lync/SfB client from 15.0.4875.1001 to 15.0.4885.1000, and boy is it bursting with Christmas cheer!

What’s Fixed

This update fixes the following issues:

  • Kb3207126 Whiteboard content is truncated when it’s saved in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013)
  • Kb3207125 Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) crashes when sign-in if you’re your own manager
  • Kb3207123 You expect to hide the entire mode bar in a group chat room in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013)
  • Kb3207121 You cannot sign in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) reliably due to the MEX document download failures
  • Kb3207119 “RTC_E_INVALID_OBJECT_STATE” error when you sign in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013)
  • Kb3207117 You can’t sign in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) successfully when the computer is unlocked
  • Kb3207115 You cannot sign in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) if cache loading has issues
  • Kb3207114 Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013) may crash when a string is formatted incorrectly
  • Kb3207113 Appear Offline invisible when using EnableAppearOffline and CustomStateURL policies in Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013)

Pre-Req’s

There are no changes here from recent updates, so if you’re already current you only need the patch itself, below under “Download”. If however your patching isn’t to current, then you’ll need to check you have *all* of these pre-req’s. The Office 2013 SP1 requirement still applies if you’re using Outlook 2010. (Lync 2013 in all of its flavours – e.g. Lync Basic – is still a component of Office 2013).

No – although I’d exited Outlook and SfB in an effort to stave off a reboot.
