Our first client update for 2015 isn’t a major one, but *I* benefit from one of the two fixes in it, so naturally I’m excited! This update (kb2920744) takes the Lync 2013 Client to 15.0.4693.1000/1001.

• KB3032396 Incorrect conversation window opens when you double-click a contact in Lync 2013

Nothing that I can see.

Known Issues

Screen-readers are an ongoing problem – unchanged from the known issues list of previous updates:

• 2898357 Screen readers cannot read aloud keystrokes during a Lync 2013 application or desktop sharing session in Windows
• 2932389 Persistent Chat file transfer fails between an external user and an internal user in Lync 2013

The Install Process

I’ve converted to using Tom’s great “install-hotfixes” PowerShell module to install my updates these days. Here’s the output. Note that I’ve dropped the Patch and MSO update in the one temporary folder on my desktop and am letting them fight it out:

Reboot?

Alas, yes – although the KB says no. Both components set the reboot flag, and having launched the client straight after patching I noted the version hadn’t changed. It wasn’t until after a reboot that the version ticked over.
