Skype for Business – like so much else these days – relies on PKI certificates, and the community has risen to the opportunity with some great tools to help us manage them. Here are two in my “essentials” kit: Check out the “Lync Certificates Report“: If you’ve not found it already, Guy Bachar & Yoav …

SfB 2015 CU1 Server Update – November 2015

Just to keep us on our toes and to confuse those of us who – like Andrew – keep a rolling “CU” count of updates, Microsoft’s just released the third server update for Skype for Business 2015 and officially labelled it  “CU1”. I know; just go with it. This update (Kb3061064) takes the server from …

Quick Tip: Am I SE or EE?

I occasionally find myself thrown into a strange Lync or SfB environment – sometimes it’s even a TeamViewer session – and I need to hit the ground running and start discovering what’s going on. Quicker than running up Topology Builder or wading through the output of Get-CsPool, “Get-CsComputer –Local” will tell you very quickly if the …

At line:1 char:1 + Enable-CsTopology + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     + CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (:) [Enable-CsTopology], DeploymentException     + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ProcessingFailed,Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Deployment.ActivateTopologyCmdlet

Vale Company_Phone_Number_Normalization_Rules

Since upgrading the Front End to Skype for Business Server last week it’s become apparent (thanks Ken!) that our old friend “Company_Phone_Number_Normalization_Rules.txt” has been retired. It’s been replaced by PowerShell and with some generic rules to hopefully get you started. Thankfully as before, Event 21034 will tell us if we have numbers in our AD …
